A walk in Teichalm, Austria
11:37
Teichalm
is one of those charming towns located in the end of the world. And by
saying it, I mean one hour drive from Graz. For the first time I
stumbled upon the name Teichalm when I'd received the invitation for the
company's christmas celebration. While driving there during the evening
it truly seemed that it's in the middle of nowhere and I missed all
those beautiful views and details. However just after arriving at the
Latschenhütte restaurant, we were welcomed by the wonderful scents of
hot wine and large buffet. After tasting the most delicious cheese
Spätzle I've ever had, I forgot about the long drive and enjoyed the
great variety of food.
After
hearing a lot about the Almland region, which is surprisingly also
famous for their special milky coffee with rum, I've decided to give
this place another chance - but this time during the day. It was a great
idea, and I enjoed the wintry walk to the fullest.
Details
on the wooden houses, little craved hearts on the window shutters,
old-school horse carriage rides in the snowy forest, frozen pond and on
the top of that - a ski resort and multiple forest tracks for the
cross-country skiing. This place reminded me of the Austrian villages
from the children's stories and I hope to visit it again while it's all
green and beautiful.
